Strategically located on shipping, land and rail routes leading to Montreal, La Prairie boasts an architectural heritage dating from several periods, exemplifying an outstanding range of styles.

Presented in collaboration with the Société d’histoire de La-Prairie-de-la-Magdeleine, the City of La Prairie and the MRC de Roussillon.

The public is invited to discover the historical district of La Prairie and its rich archaeological heritage. Various historical markers make a new archaeological route easy to follow. Throughout the summer, tours led by qualified guides are available. In addition, during the month of August, artifacts from several of the district’s archaeological sites will be displayed in various places, including the historical society’s offices.
