Parc national d’Oka

The Parc national d’Oka is a park dedicated to protecting natural and cultural resources and ensuring access to the natural environment through outdoor activities that are compatible with a conservation mission. The 23.7-km park is located in Oka, in the Laurentides region, and borders Lake des Deux Montagnes for several kilometres. This land is endowed with a diversity of plant and animal species, a range of natural environments and a number of historic and cultural sites.

Take part in a real archaeological dig; find out how archaeologists work and how they manage to discover buried secrets. You will be protecting artifacts, pieces of our past, and broadening knowledge of historic sites in Parc national d’Oka.

Archaeological finds have shown that Amerindians camped in Parc national d’Oka around the year zero. Come and piece together their way of life based on these discoveries. Simulate fishing with a net, hunting with a spear and fashioning clay into vessels.
