Maison des Jésuites de Sillery

The Maison des Jésuites de Sillery is an interpretation centre devoted to the momentous encounter between Amerindians and missionaries. A variety of exhibits and a collection of archaeological and ethnological objects of Amerindian, French and British origin bear witness to different occupations of the site.

This activity is made possible through the “Entente de développement culturel” between the ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine and the City of Québec.

This activity invites visitors on an interactive voyage into the world of the fur trade in 17th-century New France. Emphasis will be placed on the foodways of this era, and visitors will have a chance to taste sunflower soup! The program also offers simulated digs, as well as a guided tour of the site and the archaeological work carried out there.
