Lachine Canal National Historic Site
The Lachine Canal is a unique urban park. This former commercial waterway is part of an industrial landscape and continues to shape the surrounding area. Parks Canada invites you to discover the many historical and recreational aspects of the site.

In the middle of the 20th century, the Port of Montréal was the largest port in the world to export grain.
Revisit the historic atmosphere at the mouth of the canal in the Old Port by discovering the industry’s legacy within the landscape.
Accompanied by a tour guide, you’ll follow part of the Lachine Canal and imagine the grain’s journey as it traveled from the Canadian Prairies to the European continent. This event concludes with an exceptional visit of Grain Elevator N° 5.
