Centre d’interprétation de la vie urbaine de la ville de Québec
Multifaceted interpretation of the city has been our mission for more than 20 years. The organization’s activities focus on the urban experience. New technologies make it possible to explore the city in an original and surprising way. The Centre d’interprétation de la vie urbaine de la Ville de Québec offers modern-day geo rallies with GPS devices and caches, combining history, heritage, culture and real-time discovery of archaeological sites. From June on, visitors can enjoy the exhibition-experience, Vieux-Québec through Augmented Reality, at Place-Royale.
Activity {num}: Archéo Geo Rally: markets, food and beer
This activity is made possible through the “Entente de développement culturel” between the ministère de la Culture, des Communications et de la Condition féminine and the City of Québec.
For a third year in a row, your family or friends are invited to take part in our Archéo Geo Rally, an activity designed to let the general public discover archaeological and heritage sites in Québec City. Using geocaching principles and provided with a GPS device, people of all ages set off in search of thematic caches, both real and virtual. Track down the public markets of yesteryear, discover sites renowned for gastronomy and look for artifacts and ecofacts that provide surprising details about our past foodways. An entertaining challenge full of historic discoveries. Fill out the reply coupon and have a chance to win prizes for you and your friends.
